"Counselors with Character" Winner
During this introductory lesson, students will gain an understanding of the role of the school counselor at the elementary level. The school counselor will introduce the topics of bullying and friendship.
What is Bullying? Who is Bullied? Why Do Kids Bully? What can you do to help Bullying (P.A.W.S. strategies)?
Students will develop an understanding of the counselor’s role in the school.
Students will become aware of bullying characteristics and how to use P.A.W.S. strategies (Pretend it doesn’t bother you, Assert yourself,
Walk away, Seek help).
Students are socially responsible; they use strategies to solve problems in peaceful ways.
Students use analysis to determine how the characters feel and why they act the way they do.
