On Thursday, August 16th, all 8 elementary school counselors in my district got together for a Pinterest Party! Each school counselor brought materials for at least one project. It was unbelievably fun and energizing! I thought I'd share some of the projects we made, with links to the actual Pinterest activities. Also, two of my brave colleagues agreed to explain a couple of their ideas on camera. Enjoy!

I so wish I could do this, but as the districts only elementary counselor I am more of a lone wolf out there (or so it seems). The district I completed my school counseling internship in had 4 elementary counselors and they used to bring a resource/idea to share.

Wow, that must be really hard! Even I feel alone sometimes and I have a great support system. I'm glad Pinterest and other resources have helped you feel more connected and supported! :)

I love this. I am just starting out as an elementary school counselor and am also the 'lone wolf'. However, this post also made me think of having a Pinterest party with some of my old counseling classmates as an excuse time get together too! Great idea!

A colleague and are responsible for organizing our counselor PLT meeting in December. I think I've just discovered a wonderful way to engage everyone so they leave the meetings with a"Bag of Goodies" to help them meet student needs. Awesomeso excited to put together a hybrid of your ideas. Kudos to you and your colleagues! This will be soooo much fun!!

I'm not going to lie, it's pretty awesome to work with such a great group of school counselors. They are wonderful, creative, caring, and supportive individuals who definitely make me a better school counselor (and person, for that matter). The more you share your experiences and ideas, the more you'll connect. :)

I am really impressed with the list of objects brought for the project! As we all know the interests of children are different and we have to think from their side to do any exercise for them in an interesting manner! Happy to see your efforts!

Wow, thanks for all of the super ideas. I was so excited about the pinterest party that plans are in the mix for our own version. We have hosted "lesson potlucks" where we brought our favorite lesson and shared but this is just kicking it up a notch!
