Pixar Week: La Luna

Show your students how special and unique they are by writing notes on these beautiful Pixar notecards! Vol. 2 was also just released.
Day 4!

La Luna is a beautiful story about a young boy learning "the family business." Both his father and grandfather try to push their views, but the boy learns to find his own way.

This short film could help students reflect on the pressure they feel from others (friends, family, peers, strangers) to act a certain way.

To facilitate the discussion, try using the workpage below. It will you give a revealing look into the minds of your students.

Hello,

I'm currently in school working on my Masters in School Counseling. I have this individual Counseling Activity that I'm working on and I would love to use this self reflection with the bubble. However I'm not quite clear on how I would facilitate this activity after the student view the video of La Luna. What question might I ask to help get the child started to fill in the bubbles?

You don't have to use La Luna with it, but it's an extra way to discuss our individuality and inner thoughts.

I use the bubble page to help figure out what a student is thinking. I may ask specific questions, like how a student feels about school or what they think about themselves, and have the student write their responses in the bubbles. It might be a way to check-in, such as asking the student to write the first things that come to their mind (regarding "what's new" in their life). I hope that makes sense.
