You may remember a school-wide program we implemented at my school that involved grade levels earning ice cream scoops for showing respect in the cafeteria. Well, that program was a success, so we decided to try another good behavior competition using a popcorn theme. The big difference, other than the visual, is that grades can earn their reward much quicker (2 school weeks). For more information about our good behavior competitions, check out this page. |

I will be the new counselor for Elementary and Middle School next school year. How do I begin? I have a toolbox, but not real sure how to use it. Any other suggestions/

I'm wondering what the reward was? An ice cream of some sort for the whole grade? And for the popcorn competition was it a popcorn treat? Or was it not food related? TIA.

Yes, the reward was ice cream or popcorn. It was something they could eat at lunch and was pretty easy to serve.

love this! I am not a counselor, but monitor the cafe at an elementary school in Jacksonville Beach, FL. I typically have a different them for behavior each week and I am implementing your popcorn ideas today. Thank you!
